5 Interesting Weight Loss and Fitness Programs - Fitness After 40 ...

Over the last few weeks, I have been reviewing several weight loss and fitness programs that can be found online. While I don't necessarily "recommend" these programs, they do, for the most part, seem to be in accordance with my personal beliefs about health, fitness, diet and weight loss.

Disclaimer: These are all "for profit" programs, that is to say their owners or authors sell them to make a profit. However, they all are backed by money-back guarantees through a major online company and they are all respected programs.

Question: Why are there so many "good" programs. Isn't there just one set of "facts" on these subjects? Shouldn't there be just one set of exercises and one diet plan?

Answer: Yes, like most other "sciences", the scientific facts of fitness, weight loss, health, etc. are somewhat quantifiable. However, each of us is different and may benefit best from a program whose particular blend of nutrition, exercise, and other lifestyle issues fit us best.

Also, to get that "perfect" scientifically designed program, you would have to go to a major facility and pay big chunks of money. These programs are offered by individuals, who, while experienced in their field, have found that certain approaches have worked best for them and their clients...and they are cheaper!

Just yesterday, while reading two different exercise plans, I noticed that one trainer had set up a good way to use a treadmill in his program, while another claimed that treadmills were of little use...at least in HIS program! Still, if you followed either program to the letter, you would almost certainly lose weight and become more physically fit.

Having said all that, here are some links to information pages, not sale pages, about some programs I like:

1. Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle
Designed by natural bodybuilder and fitness trainer Tom Venuto, this has to be one of the best programs for burning fat around. One drawback is that almost every page has pictures of highly developed bodybuilders or fitness models. Many may think, after taking a glance at the sales material, that this program is for hardcore bodybuilders only. However, I have read it cover-to-cover and can tell you with confidence that an out-of-shape 90-year-old could benefit from this program.

2. Fat Burning Furnace
A good combination of exercise and nutrition to help just about anybody get fit and get rid of fat.

3. Hot Metabolism
UK fitness trainer Carolyn Hansen reveals the astonishingly simple principles of fat burning through metabolic regulation, for health, fitness, and weight management.

4. The Diet Solution
Designed by Isabel De Los Rios, this comprehensive weight loss program provides a complete and comprehensive weight loss program that will not only help you lose body fat, but guarantees you increased energy, health and vitality.

5. Walking for Weight Loss
This revolutionary walking program uses an unusual and extremely effective twist to using walking to burn through your fat stores. One of great things about walking is that it?s one of the easiest things in the world to do.
