The Press Secretary of the Canadian Foreign Ministry, Rick Ross, has confirmed this, adding that t his will not be a military mission.
He pointed out that the UN Security Council authorized December 20th the deployment of a peacekeeping force in Mali to liberate the northern areas of the country that are currently occupied by terrorists.
The military came to power in Mali in March last year.
The Islamists made use of the political crisis and captured a number of cities.
